January 27 is the international day to remember the people who went through the terror of the German hell.
Today, unscrupulous hearts hypnotically repeat the infinite emptiness of meaningless words. Covering up their own guilt, they distract from the absence of sincere repentance.
A true change of mind, a turning away from indifference and contempt only happens when someone acknowledges their own responsibility and breaks through the mechanisms of silence of one’s own ignorance, only when one makes amends for the annihilated lives – not only of the six million but also of the following generations that could not emerge. Taking action for life gives life.
The Last Swiss Holocaust Survivors portrays those whose souls were to be wiped out. It allows us to look into the living eyes of people who survived the unimaginable.
